T’sai means power which is at the heart of the lifestyle we have chosen to live. Our power comes from and resides within but is fueled by those we choose to surround ourselves with. The respect of other Dominants and the gifts from submissives provides positive energy we use to feed the power within us. Of course, we can also allow those around us to drain us of that power but we carefully guard against that. Next is what we choose to do with that power. We can allow it to control us and have a negative impact, or we can take control of it. From there, we have more options, we can use it to get more power at the expense of those around us or we can share it with them, and thus open an opportunity for a special type of synergy that is often referred to as the Power Exchange. In the House of T’sai, we have chosen the latter. The value of power given is much greater than that of power that is taken. We chose to share the power and energy of our House with those who respect and appreciate it. The House of T'sai is based on my own personal vision and fusion of precepts established in the heritages of many cultures like the ancient Chinese, Japanese, Roman and other cultures which had feudal societies and/or ruling classes and slave ownership. Those same cultures also had powerfully developed structures that depended on personal honor and integrity. What does my personal vision encompass? There are many ideas and ideals that I have encompassed in my vision and they naturally involve things that I believe and find some comfort in surrounding myself with. I enjoy some of the styles, philosophies and practices of the Chinese and Japanese. I like the clean style of the Japanese domiciles, I like the living of a life in balance as the Tao teaches. I happen to like some of the styles of the "Gorean" serves although I do not like rabid adherence to a fictional lifestyle which is what you find so often on the internet. Whatever your thoughts and beliefs are, you are human, I am human, we do not live on a fictional world, Gor which is the creation of John Norman. I admit it's an interesting creation but it is a fictional creation. He has written a wonderful exploration of the psychology of Master/slave, male/female, dichotomous humans and how we are part of a natural order and that we best operate within that natural way. As much as I like it's precepts, I live on earth, in a country which was once mostly free but has very different rules and social structures within which we must function within if we are to live. So, I am not "Gorean" but I will adopt the bits and pieces that I like and continue to do as I see best. Some have said that this clearly makes me Gorean and if this is the case, then so be it. I also enjoy some of the concepts that I've experienced from the various leather communities because I like their structure, honor, respect, and integrity. The Rules will further expand on some of my beliefs as they apply to the House of T'sai. The History & Status section will obviously give a bit of information as it applies to the House and the Questions & Answers is where some of the more commonly asked questions will be answered. And finally, the Gorean Ways is my personal exploration and adaptation of those concepts.
